Well, I'm coming at this from a diernfeft standpoint. When our pregnancies each ended and we were told our chances of carrying a pregnancy to term were slim, we investigated surrogacy. At the time, we were told that surrogacy was illegal in the State of Florida. However, even if it had been legal, I don't think we would have done it. I just don't think I could have dealt with the surrogate possibly bonding with "my" child. That same fear, however, never bothered me with our adoptions..isn't that weird? But true: for some reason, I never worried about our adoptions not going through, and even have good relationships with two of our birth mothers now!
